Monta Vista Fashion Show

Today was our high school's annual fashion show, hosted by the Monta Vista Fashion Club. It was held in our school's small theatre, and they did a fantastic job with production. We were generously given an allotted time to present a collection of our pieces (some of which you can view on our website: halcyonboutique.storenvy.com), complete with music we selected and models who volunteered through the club. They all did an amazing job, and we were so happy with the show overall. Here is a clip of our segment of the show:

MoMA Article!

As you know, we recently participated in Monta Vista's "Museum of Modern Arts" where students got to showcase their talents and passions. We were very excited to see Halcyon mentioned in the article about MV's MoMA in El Estoque, Monta Vista's esteemed newspaper! ☀ MV MoMA ☀

On February 8th, our school held a mini "Museum of Modern Arts" where students had the opportunity to showcase their passions and talents. We had a booth with some pieces we reworked from our first haul that we plan to put up on the website. Both of our sewing machines broke, so we had to hand-stitch everything, but hopefully we can get new ones soon!

☀First Thrift Haul☀

Today we went thrifting at the Cupertino Goodwill for the very first time! We got a great haul - almost 20 items for under 50 dollars. We got plenty of winter sweaters, velvet long sleeves, and a ton of other cute pieces we can't wait to work with! Overall, we'd say it was a pretty successful day (=

We made our first hair bow today!

Anna's sister Kavya taught us how to stitch them, and we finally got to put our scrap fabric to use! We still need to perfect it, but we'll get there.
